Just wondering if I need to get a Digital Aquatics float switch to work on the Reefkeeper or if other float switches will work?
Does Bulk Reef Supply have any float switches I could use on the Reefkeeper?
Thanks

i believe you can use other float switches but you need to get the switch adapter to connect to the SL1

You just splice the float switch onto the adaptor which goes to the Reefkeeper?

Any float switch will work, all they do is create a short that the RK detects. I don't think BRS sells them, try autotopoff.com his link above.

Yes the adapter is needed. We are talking about Reefkeeper Elites/Lite, correct? :)

The switch inputs on the RKE can be wired directly to the float switch. All you really need is the right connector. My RKE came with a pair of connectors with wire.
Here are some float switches that I have used with it. Works great.

I will be getting the Reefkeeper Lite. I assume they can't be wired directly.
Anyone?

You can do it with the Reefkeeper Lite.
I have the ReefKeeper Lite level 3. You need the level 2 or 3 so you have the SL-1 with the switch inputs. Then get the switch kit, which is basically just a set of wires you cut in half that give you your two switch inputs to the SL-1 and 2 double wired ends to connect to your float switches.
I used a generic float switch I bought off a Canadian distributor and it works great.

Which Canadian distributor do you use? I just moved to PEI from Ontario. Nice to see someone close by in Moncton. Are there any decent stores there? Where do you get your livestock?
Thanks for the response.
