New T5 light

Hello,
I am in the process of switching from fish only to reef, and I have just purchased a Current T5 HO unit. I'm sure this has been addressed before, but what do folks recommend for the length of time for the lights to be on. There were no suggestions in the directions, but I have heard that the blue lights should come on approx. 2 hours before the whites and stay on for 2 hours after the whites go off. So if the 2 blues are on from 9 - 9, and the 2 whites are on from 11 - 7, would that be appropriate?

I think much of us are using whites for 5-7 hours and getting good color and growth. I do 5 hrs 4 blus plus,1 aqua blue and 1 KZ new gen
