You should do a time-lapse of her pregnancy!! "I'm not getting you pickles and ice cream until you take today's photo!"

If you think waking up at 4AM to shoot landscapes is crazy, wait til you get to wake up EVERY HOUR to change diapers :D :D

Let's put it this way... you now have an excuse to buy that "L" lens so you can take better pics of your kid! :D

well, Congratulations!

Doug your post had me laughing.

Yes, congratulations Grant!! Your world is going to change in big, good way. I have three "human frags" and I am immensely proud of each of them. For me, parenting is the highest highs and lowest lows. It taught me to put others, or at least my children, before myself. I also learned the value of "pick your battles". And enjoy them while they want to be with you, as once they get old enough to drive, spending time with the parents falls dramatically down their priority list.

Take lots of pictures both of your woman and the wee one, as they change so much so fast.

Congrats again man! Woo hoo!

Ken

Thanks you guys ;) I'm pretty happy about it, I've been practicing the art of conception for quite some time now but actually having a baby is a whole new concept to me, hope I'm up for the challenge!

You always hear about that, but I've only known one person who actually did crave that combination. She also periodically wanted pickles and peanut butter.

Pickles and ice cream wasn't a craving for either of the mothers of my children. What I did find interesting was their heightened sense of smell and how they suddenly couldn't tolerate the scent of some common items, like eggs and dog food.

Whatever you do, don't laugh at ANY of the new / unusual behaviors that might emerge, at least until you know she is laughing too!

Them pregnancy hormones are powerful things...

Thanks for all the good advice. My wife is a pretty level headed lady, but I'm betting the hormones make even my normally calm wife a little bit hard to deal with :)

Time will tell!

During the next few months, you will become acquainted with the demon/angel (varys by the day/minute) that will occupy the body of that "level headed lady"!

JK, congrats, sit down, hold on, and shut up!

Congratulations, Enjoy everyr minute of the Journey, It goes by quickly!!!

My Children are the one thing in my life above all else that I am truly "proud of"

I have a daughter that is 25 and is an ordained minister and works in the missions field, soon to go back to Elsalvador for the Third time, and a son 23 working in the engineering field and still going to college.

What still keeps me going each day is the picture collage of those two as they grew up on the wall in my office, my son in a backpack on my back at the zoo and my daughter playing in a small wading pool with our labrador retriever.

Enjoy them as they grow up quickly!!

Thanks guys ;)

Here is a better picture, there is too much distracting stuff in the background but we're in the middle of cleaning up a room we've been storing stuff in for a couple years now and the living room is pretty much a complete disaster because of it :)

I need to get one without so much crap in the background, just the test, the wife and me.
