Has anyone used red sea coral pro and what opinions do you have? It appears to have a low alkalinity. i have heard it doesn't mix well and that it caused diatom bloom with one customer.

I have been using reef crystals and this works good except that i often have to dose alkalinity and calcium between water changes.

I use it and have been from day 1. No complaints at all. Alk is maybe just a tad low, I always find it in the 7 - 8 range, but that does me fine. I don't understand how a salt mix could be responsible for a diatom bloom, but maybe there's something I don't know. I haven't had any trouble with it mixing, but I have a pretty big pump mixing it in a 35g container for at least 24 hours from the time I mix to the time I use it.

I use it and mix it with a wisk without any problems. No blooms of anything. I am switching over to natural sea water but that is for cost more than anything. 2 part costs less than a bucket of salt.
