What is the best clean up crew for a barebottom SPS tank with a few zoa covered rocks on the bottom?? Tank size is 125g.

Is this a trick question??? :)

all kidding aside, I think most barebottom reef enthusiast try and keep enough flow so that nothing really accumulates on the bottom except some coralline algae..

My barebottom has become my little Zoa and Acan garden and hasd a tendency of trapping some detritus.. When I flip my propogation discs over they are covered will tiny micro stars and bristleworms, so they seem to keep things tidy.

I imagine some snails, couple hermits and some Micro stars and your in business, oh yeah and a lot of FLOW!

flow is your clean up crew.

if nothing ever settles and rots to begin with........no clean up crew needed

I do employ a few astreas for the walls

That's the information I was looking for. Thanks!! Nothing does settle on the bottom of my tank, I'm just tired of scraping the side and back walls every weekend. My rocks are all lifted off the bottom with rod and I have close to 100x/hour turnover with my 2 Vortechs, 2 modded K4's and my return pump.

You better be sure to clean those filter socks frequently if your using one. Rotting is rotting, whether it's here or there.

No filter socks here. I keep everything suspended.....including in my sump.

Modded K4's= Koralia #4 and a Sureflow 1600 mod kit. Use either the black or white prop. The white props don't always start the correct direction though.

Not sure what this is in reference to, but yes I do have one hell of a skimmer. I own the Hurricone Cat2 Internal.

If things are not settling somewhere, that skimmer must be pulling them out. That's what I meant.
