So I inherited a nice Aqua 40W UV sterilizer. The problem is that it's the 3/4" in/out kind, not the 2" version. I'd prefer to stay away from 3/4" as it will restrict my flow. Anyone know a good way to rectify this? It looks like the manufacturer just glued in a 3/4"-2" reducer. But I don't see an easy way to get that out.

Maybe if someone out there has a broken one, they could sell it to me for parts? Anyways, suggestions are welcome.

Thanks.

I've gone directly to Aqua and got parts i needed. Just phone them up and buy the end caps for 2" direct. IME they even talked me through what i needed. I did this when i joined two 57w together. Cheap and quick service.

Yea I called them up. They were very friendly. They said they could sell me a new body but that was about it. I'd like to see about other options if anyone can help come up with them. I know it's a shot in the dark but I figured it was worth trying before spending a bunch of money.

Thanks.

You don't want a lot of flow through the uv anyway. IMO 2" worth of flow is way to much for a 40 watt.

Agreed. Although the spec says the 40W can handle 2900GPH as a sterilizer. I'm just going to Tee off 1/2 my Dart and run it through the sterilizer on the way back from the sump. I'd prefer not to have to go down from 1.25 to 3/4 if possible.

get a reducing T, just to go through the uv, and either loop it back to the sump or to the DT.
