jumping gobie

bought a diamond goby today and i had to put a cover on the tank because he kept trying to get out... i got him to clean my sand and after trying to jump out a couple times he dissapeared in the tank... normal for him to hide in the rockwork for awhile?... and yes im positive he didnt jump out while i wasnt looking... i sealed it up and did a total walk around and hes nowhere OUTSIDE the tank.. any ideas??

i had a diamond goby who jumped out so i put egg carton screening over and got a new one. this one does not come out as much so it seems. he comes out only when i feed a certain type of food (rods food).it is interesting though because the hole he goes into seems to sort of seal up after hes in there. i miss my old one! he always went around and ate through the sand!
