I'm wondering if a Naso Tang and a Powder brown would get along? It would be in a 180g tank.

Any of you have those 2 in the same tank?

Naso is much less aggressive than other tangs. They should be ok. Naso do get big fast and will outgrow your tank

A naso needs a 10 foot tank for optimal. Gallonage is less important than tank length.

It's a 6foot tank. So nobody here has a naso in a 6 foot tank. hum....

I'm slightly more liberal with Nasos than others, but I still say you need an 8ft tank at the bare minimum. No, it won't last in your 180.

A 180 is a decent sized tank. As far as tangs go, it is pretty much still a medium sized tank.

There are lots of fish you can put in a 180, and lots of tangs that will live happily ina tank that size. A Naso isn't one of them.

Basically if you avoid the really large (most naso varieties) you can put most kinds of tangs in a 180. Just make sure you don't add multiple zebrasomas, acantharus, etc.

Last night I saw a beautiful 12" male naso in a 300 gallon tank with an 8x2 footprint and to be honest he looked cramped. No one is saying a 180 is a small tank, its just not big enough to keep a naso happy for the long haul.
