I am planning on using the poseidon 4 on my 120 with 40g sump and 10g frag tank, i am wondering if i will have any heat issues. I dont have any problems now, but i have never ran it with out a heater in the hot summer to see what temp it runs at.

Its 145W, so you may have an issue. I run one because of the heat it adds. Right now, its perfect. My tank stays between 78 - 79 with no heating or cooling. When the cooler weather hits, the heaters will have to kick in again.

Turn your heaters off and see how the temps are.

As Scott said, it is 145 watts, so it will add about 145 watts of heat to the tank.
I use the T1 on my tank, and get about 450 GPH out of it. What pump are you using currently?

currently using a gen-x pcx40 about 1100gph just too noisy.

I switched from the PCX-40 to the PS4. Mine is a basement sump application so I dont care about the noise. I would NEVER use the PCX-40 in the display area! I did it to reclaim the heat from the pump Vs the air cooled Gen-X. Noise wise, its amazing. The pump is literally dead silent. You plug it in, water starts flowing and you dont hear a thing.

I can't tell you how much heat it will add to your tank, but I used a P-4 on my 180 as a return pump. I did notice a spike in the temp up to 82-83 when it was usually around 79 most of the time.
I placed a 6" clip-on fan blowing air at the pump on low speed and this lowered the them back to 79-80 year round.

There was a mod I wanted to try but never got around to trying because my issue was taken care of.
People were taking off the stock fan off the pumps they had and used a 12v computer fan that produced less noise.
I always wanted to try this on the Poseidon pumps but never got to it.

I use 3 of the Poseidon P-4's on my 240 now, but I do have a chiller.
