Live sand/rock Help!

I just added live sand to my new reef tank, no fish just sand and one live rock. What do I need to do to aid this in culturing properly?

get some kind of fish in there so that they can feed the cultures, or just add some food to it

Do NOT add fish. By culture I am assuming you mean cylce your tank. Just throw in a few pinches of flake food or a piece of RAW table shrimp...if the shrimp is pink its cooked.

Be patient. You can not rush this. After you throw the shrimp or food in monitor you amonia and nitrates. They will start to climb in the following days/weeks. Once they climb then return to zero you are ready to begin adding fish.....

If you add a fish now it will be very stressful on the fish and possibly kill it....
