Hi,
I was thinking about getting a gorgonian. So I what would be a good photosynthetic gorgonian that doesn't require intensive feeding? I have a 30 gallon SPS dominated reef with metal halide, and strong flow.
Thanks

Corky finger gorgonia. No feeding necessary, but not that pretty, just brown.

gorgonians are pretty cool looking corals. But depending on the type you get, they are not always the easiest to keep.

Some need low light & some need moderate to low. Some need strong water flow, some need moderate to low flow.

I would look at the lighting that you have & do more research on the ones that will fit your tank.

The purple Gorgonian is my favorite. Very hardy and looks pretty cool too.

What about Purple Candelabra (Pseudopterogorgia bipinnata)
Liveaquaria say that it "should be fed a few times a week with a filter feeding food"
But that shouldn't be a problem since I feed phyto daily anyway.
