Pseudanthias Tuka, aka purple queens, have yellow/orange as shown on the Randall photos on fishbase.org. http://www.fishbase.org/Photos/ThumbnailsSummary.php?ID=6502

Pseudanthias Pascalus, aka purple anthias, are characterized by the solid purple coloration. http://www.fishbase.org/Photos/ThumbnailsSummary.php?ID=6934

The one shown on bluezoo is a male and the differences are the snout color. "Males of this species (P. Tuka) differ from males of P. pascalus by having a yellowish snout."

ok but the ones in that picture look nothing like a queen correct?

So they are male and female purple anthias

for intense queen anthias have a redish upper flowing fin. The ones in the pic don't.

All the purple fish in the OP's pic are juvenile/female purple queens (P. tuka).

The BZ pic is of a large, adult male... a wild one at that.
