Microbubbles, On Octopus

My Reef Octopus 300F has been pulling microbubbles in through the intake, when they are coming rapid the skimmer doesnt work, when they are coming once every 30 seconds it skims fine, my real question is, is it normal to be pulling them through about every 30 seconds, and my next question is, why does it sometimes pull them in rapidly?

Is this a new skimmer? Most skimmers and even canister filters will emit microbubbles initially until they become "broken in." Give it some time before getting too excited.
