skimmer problem

i have a Marineland Advanced In Sump Protein Skimmer 300 gal Mb1 when its running the water coming out looks like it does in the skimmer, tons of little bubbles. what could be wrong?

i have the same skimmer, i hate it, raise the skimmer so it is 7 inches in the water or a little less, this stops the micro bubbles but diminishes the output.
also it took about 5 weeks to break the skimmer in.
