Seems very futile to me compared with the other sides but sure looks better clean. Wondering what everyone else does?

nope let coraline and green algae run it +1, There are a lot of micro fauna and flora the live on the glass, and are vary beneficial to your fishes and corals .;)

My back glass is the front glass in the other room, so I have no choice, otherwise I probably wouldn't. That said I always keep the ends clean too so maybe I would.

Hell, I'm proud of myself when I clean the front glass! No way am I going to clean the back!!! I couldn't get to it even if I wanted to with all the LR piled against it.

I like the look of clean glass. I clean every inside glass surface.

No cleaning here, it's a free for all on the back glass.

On my current tank I don't clean the glass and coraline has taken over. On my next tank I will clean the glass.

it is much easier to spray paint it black or blue. It takes as much time to clean it once as to spray it one time

I try to keep mine clean, but I can't get back there with the magnet so I have to use a regular old glass scraper. I'm almost at the point of letting it go, but I swore when I set this new tank up I was gonna keep it clean :)

Let it grow. That's where my fish feed.

Thanks for everyones input so far. I was leaning towards not cleaning it as I have seen pics on here with shrooms and everything else on the back glass. One less chore !!!!!

No back glass cleaning for me either. My Regal Tang and Lawnmower Blenny keep it from getting out of hand.

I dont clean my back glass. I let it cover up in coraline. I also like to watch my lawnmower blenny having a go at it, like Cozmo said.

Nope I let nature take over, I like that look. Besides, someday the coraline and other growth will hide all the cords. Hehe

Let it grow - it matches my overflow...

It's funny on my tank the overflow / rocks is completely purple with corraline. However the back glass really doesn't have any significant corraline or algae growth. I do not even have to touch it.

I don't clean the back glass. The sides, once in a blue moon.

I actually havent cleaned any of my glass yet.... I need to clean the front and sides though, but I am not worried about the back on this one. When I do my 125 it will have a partial rock wall w/ the rest painted so it will get cleaned then if needed :)

Have never cleaned my back glass

I have a 2g pico and a 29g nano. I dont clean the back on either. The 29g doesnt have much corraline growth as its only months old and my MH is out lol.
My 2g is acrylic and to scrape it or put a magnet in it causes overflow (magnets are to big anyways) So I only clean the front and sides. Which The back is starting to cover in corralline but its green :( The rocks are purple so I dont know why the acrylic is green.

I don't clean it, but my urchin keeps it pretty clear.

Thats why I love acrylic tanks, cuz they are easy to get with a black background and it doesnt matter then anyway.

I clean mine looks more natural with the blue background then all that purple everywhere...

Does anybody feed live brine shrimp to their tank and have "hair-like" remians on thier back glass?
Robamus

Mine started to get purple but I threw a few turbos in and I think the rabbitfish ate it too... Now its like perfect and I dont even have to clean the front.

how old is your tank?
i wish a turbo would take mine away, i never even knew they ate it, infact i dont believe they do.
could be theres not enough calcium and the coralline is just disolving dying off?
over the summer i got kinda lazy with my tank and stopped dosing calc, i noticed some/many spots were turning white and flaking off into thick chips.
i got back to the calc routine and its back to heavy purple again
i truly hate it..but with a weak wrist and a not so hot back i cant do much about it..so im stuck with it :(
