Sorry I am kinda new to collecting corals. Can someone tell me what this is called? Also will the empty part eventually fill in?Thanks

To me it looks like some kind of open brain / faviid to me but I don't know which. The empty part is dead. New growth might spread into it from the live area but don't count on it being fully covered any time soon if ever.
