PFO ballast and T5 bulbs

Do you have any idea if the 48" PFO electronic vho retro will over-drive the 54w t5 bulbs in the same manner that the IceCap 660 will?

I'm looking for a ballast to go with a T5 setup and am partial to the PFO with the dual on/off switches.

Hi Brett,

The PFO ballast is electronic, but it will not overdrive the bulbs, just run at the bulbs maximum wattage. So Icecap would get you a little more bang for your buck, although i've heard Icecap ballast is having a little trouble running 8 T5's.

I agree with you on PFO though, the dual on/off is just too hard to resist, plus the safety feature where if you loose a ballast, you still have 50% light, that can save your corals.
