I recently bought 3 lumenbright large pendants and like them except for the design/consistency of how they hang. One of them hangs very well because the bulb inserts into the pendant and the hanging screws all line up parallel to each other.
The other 2 don't hang well because the bulb is on an end that doesn't have a hanging screw so the weight of the bulb, and cord make it hard to point the reflector straight down. It usually hang on a slight angle.
I can post pics if needed but to help explain I use a small diagram below. Assume I am looking at the top of the reflector (or down into the tank).
b = bulb insert into the reflector, where the cord hangs off of the reflector
x = position where the hanging screw goes into the reflector
Pendent 1:
b x x
Pendant 2:
b
x x
Pendant 1 hangs well because the weight of the bulb and cord do not affect the angle of the light.
Pendant 2 has a problem because the weight of the bulb pulls down the end with the bulb/cord.
Is there any way to fix this problem?
Is there an adapter to turn pendent 2 into pendent 1?
I'm kind of disappointed with the lack of consistency with these reflectors.
Anyone else have this problem?
