Hello Everyone,

Last Tuesday my favorite toadstool started the shedding process.

When I came home from work on Tuesday, I noticed the polyps did not expand. By Wed./Thurs. I noticed the wax starting to form. By Friday the wax was solid on the top of the toadstool.

It's Sunday night and the polyps are not yet starting to expand. I did, however, see some of the wax starting to flake off tonight.

How long does the shedding process normally take? The stalk is still straight and there is no visible sign of distress. I'm guessing the debris from the pump signaled the shed. The other 2 leathers I have in the tank are doing great, so I'm assuming my water parameters are in check.

Thanks in advance for your responses!!

Matt

Adequate flow plays a big part in the shedding process. You can try using a turkey baster or powerhead to help blow the film off.
