Im wondering if the acrylic should be 1/2" or 3/4" thick on a 200g,210g or 220g. Someone told me if it was 30" high it should be 3/4". Has anyone had issues with tanks bowing at 1/2" thick?? Any info is greatly appreciated. :)

My tank (from a large commercial vendor who isn't a sponsor here, name begins with "T") is sold as a 360 gallon and is 8' long x 3' wide x 2' tall and is made from 5/8" acrylic with a full top. It seems a bit underbuilt to me, but there's no bowing so far in water tests. The full top is somewhat of an inconvenience (rather have a eurobrace or similar) but I am able to make it work :) As mentioned previously go with 3/4 acrylic if given the option, you'll feel much better about it and the cost difference won't be too horrible as long as you're not adding things like custom bracing / overflows / etc.

defiantly 3/4" is a must if you want years of performance without the bowing. if the tank bows even a little you will get a distorted view. plus a 3/4" looks bad a$$. i had people that seen my tank ask is that bullet proof glass =)

My tank is 72"x48"x27" 1" acrylic on all sides and bottom with 1" euro brace. I would definately go at least 3/4" for a 200g.
