Nitrate in make up water question

I have a question about my make up water. If my TDS meter shows 130 in and 1-2 out is it still possible to have nitrates in the make up water? Even at 0 out can you you have nitrates in the water?

Not very likely, even with a tds of 1-2 ppm.

Nitrates are the end product of the biological process.

I get a kick out of all of the salt manufacturers stating "nitrate free" on their containers. It's a freebie. :D

I doubt there's any nitrate present, but most nitrate kits will work well on RO water, if you'd like to test it.
