I recently purchased one of your float valves and I am wondering how to set it up. Looks a though it can be drilled through the Brute as it seems to have a gasket??
The float valve is for my RODI station. I want to set it up on a Brute garbage can to control my RODI production.
I have the 5 Stage Plus system which also has an auto shut off built. I am totally new to this and have never used one before. I was told that I will have all I need to perform this function. Curious how it all comes together.
Also, I have been told the solenoid set up rather than the float valve method is the only way to go. Any thoughts?
Thanks

Is it drilled through the can? What kind of float valve? Any pics?

yes, i drilled towards the top on the side, there's no problem when filling it up full of water. I used the float valve from BRS and i have a kent marine float valve on another trash can for saltwater

I roll my reservoir to the water unit. I don't have it close by. I can just let it run and forget about it and the booster pump and water will shut off

Thanks so much Ruben. A picture says a thousand words. What size hole did you drill? Just the 1/4" for the RODI line? The gasket is on the wet side? Did you have to seal it at all? Or not because water should not get that high?

Ruben,
Why the 2 different heights for the floats? How does your set up work?

no difference in height, the lid on the trashcan in the second pics throws things off.
The size for the float valve is larger than 1/4", i can't remember what size I used. I think it was like half an inch, but I know that's not the correct one to use. I just remember I had to pick something close enough and then had to push the float valve through with a little force. The tubing will not go through the trashcan, there's a hole in the float valve where the water will end up being pushed through
if you take apart the two nuts that you see on the outside, youll notice a couple of small plastic pieces that will come out, those are to keep the 1/4" tubing locked in place. One nut secures the float valve in place and the other nut secures the 1/4" tubing in place, the gasket goes on the inside of the water container

Thanks again Ruben.
As soon as I unscrewed the nut those 2 plastic pieces flew out. Is there a proper way for them to be facing? Are they right beside each other?

i think one just goes around the 1/4" tubing and the other goes on the inside of the 1/4" tubing. the roundish one where it looks like its cut goes around the tubing, the other i believe goes inside of the tubing, just dont remember what they look like.
