Wow, that's a big fish... what kind of tank mates is she going to have? I'd be a little scared for them.

Yeah really, I hope this doesn't go in your 210g, you will be making a big mistake.

Congrats man! Can't wait to see it. My 6" one is my favorite of my current bunch. What's the story on it? Someone bring it back to the LFS after it outgrew their tank or is it fresh from the ocean? Keep us updated.

I most likley wont go pick her up till friday night or saturday. And yes as of right now it, will be going in the 210.I did want a smaller one, but they are coming hard to come by.And my 210 has alot less fish in it right now then it did.I got something in there a couple months ago and lost a bunch of fish and i moved a couple around to other tanks.I will post pics as soon as i get her.

Fresh from the ocean and has been quarantined and treated at a local wholesaler for the last 2 weeks and my store just got her in yesterday for me.Originally posted by jmccown

I wish the red shirts good luck... I think it would be worth it to wait for a smaller one if you plan to keep it with other fish for any length of time, but you seem pretty set on this one anyway. If things get ugly do you have back up plans?

DamnPepShrimp

+1 Yeah really this does not sound good. You lost fish due to a disease, that's how your tank thinned out. Now your going to add a beast of a trigger that could kill everything or atleast stress everyone to the point where whatever was in your system can be given the chance to come back since immune systems will be low. Straight from the ocean at 12" it's going to be mean, hope your backup plan isn't letting it eat everyone in your tank. Might want to think about not picking her up since you have time.

Just sell your other fish if it doesn't work out. A 210 with a beast queen trigger is a complete tank.

Yes.A tank all by itself.Originally posted by LukFox

If it is too mean, you can always eat it. Queen triggers taste amazing deep fried. ;) Trust me I know! :)

On a serious note, I am sure that it will be an amazing fish.

For those who have kept Queen Triggers you know that they are amazing fish and are even great solitary pets. Even if triggerfreak keeps it alone in a 210 I'm sure it will be fine for a long time. There was a post on another forum 3-4 years ago about a guy who kept a QT for 20 years in a 210g tank by itself. He had pics and everything. Was very cool. I can't wait to see pics. Mine will be about that size in a year.

I think it would be great to have it in the tank by itself. If it was me though I'd get all the other fish out before taking the queen home.

I appreciate all the input on putting the queen trigger in my tank with the other fish in there. But for those of you that know me on hear know that i have dealt with alot of triggers in the past 15 years and i also have previous experience with a large queen trigger. So i know fair well the chances and what can happen and i am willing to take the risk on her.I will be getting her tonight and will post pics soon.

Kudos triggerfreak. I hope it works out man. That is my goal with my 6" queen trigger, to be able to keep it with tankmates even at a large size. So far it gets along with everyone in my tank without any aggression whatsoever. My previous 18" queen trigger wouldn't even let me put my hand in the tank, much less another fish.

Thanks jason. When i went to the store to look at it.They had it in a 120 gallon with a grouper and a small damsel and it was content.I could not even get it to put it's horn up at me.So i hope it goes well.I will find out more info on where it came from also.Originally posted by jmccown

Very nice! to be honest i would rather see that queen in a tank all alone. It looks a little unnatural with all those large fish together. Still, gonna be a fav on rc!

Hey TF, nice queen. Looks great. Dont let the nay-sayers get you down. While what they say is not unfounded, you have plenty of trigger experience and you would/will know if/when something bad will happen. Looks great and Im sure you will provide a great living enviornment for your fishes! Good Luck!

That is a very nice fish. She totally dominates that tank, so much bigger than everyone else.

I hope it works out for you.

I want to sell all my fish and get a massive queen trigger. I've never gotten a queen because I've been worried it would eat my banana moray's eyes. Is this a legitimate concern?

triggerfreak
09/07/2009, 07:20 AM
No i don't think so.Both the queens i have owned have never been super aggressive owardss anyone even when they were this big.My last one would only bother a fish with the body bstyle of a bluethroat or crosshatch trigger and only when they were smaller. So youe eals should be fine,Originally posted by FishyMel
