Is the tank overstocked and sounds like an OK set up?? Its a 10 gallon tank with 8 lb of live rock, 2 inches of sand, canister filter(puts out 240 GPH and the filter pads are cleaned EVERY week), 150 watt heater, and 15 watt fluorescent light. The tank is a FOWLR tank. Water changes are 1 gallon every week. Fish are fed once a day with pellet food.

Fish list:
1 Coral Beauty Angelfish
1 Bicolor Blenny
1 baby Maroon Clownfish(no larger than an inch)
2 Yellow Tailed Damsels.

Inverts:
1 Cleaner Shrimp
1 small Sally Light Foot Crab
5 Margarita Snails
5 Hermit Crabs

I wouldn't keep a coral beauty in a 10 gallon tank

I think most people will say 2-3 fish max.

And you'll have aggression issues with the maroon and the damsels

Honestly with proper feeding you will probably have ammonia and algae issues. Especially without running a skimmer. I agree that the coral beauty is a bit of a stretch. I would replace the maroon clown with a false perc and remove the coral beauty all together.

add a few more fish. i think you might be able to fit a small .5"-1" tang in there

western,

you should see if they have small fish like they have in fishkids avatar. that would be awesome in a small tank.

Do you have a friend who thinks this is a good idea, and he doesn't believe you when you say it's a bad one? :) Getting more people to back you up can help.

Yes, it is very, very overstocked.

Ok, I'll post the full story. Here it is. Everything I posted in the first post was my very FIRST saltwater tank set up when I was 12 and a half years old. Back then, I had no idea that forums even existed, I was getting all my info from the LFS and online sites, not forums, but some fish sites. Still, its not THAT bad for a 12 and a half year old newbie eh? At least I was doing weekly water changes and cleaned the filter pads every week. lol I'm uploading a video of the tank right now, I've never had any algae in the tank. To tell you the truth, I was calling up the LFS and was asking them how to get hair algae to grow. LOL!! No joke! lol I've never had aggression problems with the fish. I still have that Maroon Clownfish to this day and she was my very first salt water fish ever. Shes in my 180 gallon mixed reef right now enjoying life. :) I just thought I'd share.

when i had my 10 gallon reef all i had was one fish and it worked out great i had a protein skimmer and did weekly water changes. i cant imagine having more then 1 fish in a 10 gallon tank... not only is not fair to the fish but also keeping up water quality.

From a stocking perspective it didn't look as bad as it sounded but pretty much maxed out nonetheless. That angel does need more space.

That's my opinion.
