I never had an acan before. I bought a tank which comes with an big colony. I dont' want to sell/trade it out because my tank is small. Please give me a suggestion about a reasonable price on the following acan which has at least 60-70 heads. I will use this price to trade or sell.

You'd pay $600 - $800 for that around these parts.

You might touch a frag of that with 5 or 6 polyps for $60 or $80 if you know somebody and they happen to like you.

What am I doing?!?!?!?!? errrrrrrrrrrrr... I'll give ya $80 for it!!!

j/k :)

IMHO, with that many heads and good color that would be at least $200 at a reef LFS and I could see some overpriced online sites asking $400 for it. The color and shape suggest to me that it be A. echinata v. A. lordhowensis. Anyone else?

I would say about 150 to 200 for it. It looks like an echinata, which can be beautiful in colors, but not always high in price.

I'd say $60 to $100. I can't see fragging it being worth while IMO.

To me it looks like a A. echinata. I would say $80 to $150 from a LFS depending on what part of the country you live.

+1 on it being an a. Echinata.... As someone said earlier fair market value would be $80-$150.

Acans in general heal really fast in days. I've had colonies that puff back up minutes after being fragged. IMHO fragging would be worth it, many times u can get
more by selling frags than you can the entire colony whole. Just depends on the interest it is generating.

yes if it was a cool colored lord it may be worth some big $ but you have a pretty common Echinata there and sorry to say its worth $75to $125 for the most part . im sorry to sat that you probably wont have alot of people knocking at your door trying to purchase that perticular acan .it will recover quite fast once it gets settled back into your tank from a couple of dips it will heal in about three weeks if you feed it and when i say heal i mean so you wont notice the cut polyps were cut .

I dunno that it's necessarily a "good color", unless my eyes deceive me it looks quite brown to me, sure there's some orange in it, sure there's some teal, the only saving grace is the tiger stripes it looks to have.

Don't get me wrong, I have way crappier looking corals, I'm just saying, considering the area you live in (we're quite spoiled around these parts) you'd be lucky to get triple digits for it.
