i saw some acro at the pet store and for some reason the guy that works there keeps telling me it will die with my t5 lighting and says i need mhs is this true and if im posted in wrong section could you point me in the right direction

There are tons of SPS T5 lit tanks that have some amazing colors. Bulbs that emit more par are helpful, individual reflectors, overdriving bulbs with ballasts increase par, etc.. But then again you haven't listed how deep your tank is, or tank specs which also helps in the determining process.

i have a four bulb with individual reflectors t5 24 watt fixture two actinic and two 10 k it is about 2 foot deep

You should be able to keep SPS in the top part of your reef. Wouldn't hurt to have a 6 bulb fixture, but as long as you stay up high, you can sustain them under that much light...
