Hi i have a180gal reef tank I have tryed bta, carpet, and rose
with no luck they keep moving and get in a power head or
behind rocks and die I had led lights they quit so now I have
constellition t-5, 14 bulbs, in this light allso two vortech power
heads. Shoud I try again now that i have different lights?
or do i have too much flo? tank is 18 months old thank you

What are your water parameters and tank mates?

some lps and softs 2 tangs 4 anthis,and copperband salt is1.025 no nitrate
mag1400, ph8.1 calcum 490 kh3.66 no phosphate

This is what I would do.I would go buy a nice little sea anemone and put in on the sand bed by a rock and shut off all power heads and let it settle in.And let it atach to the rocks befor turning on any power heads.Also buy some foam covers and put them on the power heads to prevent them from gettignchopped up.Also how well do you tank care of your tank?

Carpet and I think even rose are tricky to begin with. If you do try again, I would stick with LTA or BTA. I personaly think LTA are easiest. Also the key is to get a healthy anemone to begin with. If you look at some at the LFS you can tell they are on their way out. Good luck.

i think that btas are the easiest. i recommend the bta
