Hey everyone. Thought I would let everyone know that Matt at Austin Aqua Farms has an interruptus available. Most are unaware that he gets some truly rare and better yet super healthy specimens. There is also a 14 day guarantee on the fish. Wish I had the tank for him. T

interruptus are easy to obtain, its just keeping them alive that is tricky, especially at 5"

My next display will be "subtropical" eith a dedicated chiller with temps in the lower to mid 60's. This and getting a healthy, well adjusted fish, is how you vastly increase your success with an interruptus. Want to do a Wrought and my other must have is a flame box. You will be first on my people to contact when the display is running. Already have most of the equipment and display. Just need the time and other odds and ends to get it going. Hows the fish eating Matt? What is he/she? eating? How long have you had the fish? Thanks, T

The fish has been in my care since late July. He/she is eating mysis and brine shrimp like its going out of style. Ocassionaly she will eat straight out of my fingers, getting more friendly everyday. Yesterday I fed just after the light went out and she swam right up to my hand, turned around, and brushed me with her tail before pecking at the cube! Temps are kept between 73.5 and 74.2ish.
This is the only fish I have right now, and is already spoken for. Most of the fish we get in are special order and rarely make it to the site. Shouldl have jocs in the next few weeks and hopefully a batch of anampses femininus... We'll see if they make it in!

Great Matt. Seems you have some great contacts, especially in Australia,(look at the corals)! Any reason you don't sell fish more frequently? Do you still have the Wrought and clarion in the sump???!!!:) Ever see Flame Trunkfish, Anoplocapros lenticularis available? I know they are difficult but I am fasinated by them and they ain't to shabby looking. Tim

I catch those by the dozens.
Over here locally they are called White Bar Boxfish, or White Bars.
For export to Asia the are called Flame Boxfish. Only the males have the red colouration.
As they get larger they tend to become more orange in colour.
They are found from smaller than a golf ball, to around a softball or slightly bigger in size.
A beautiful, fantastic personable fish. As we swim past, we turn around to see them having swum out of the holes in the reef, to observe us. We swim back slowly, and they swim right up to our mask. Its then a matter of grabbing them by hand, and placing them into the catch bucket.
Gives a whole new meaning to "hand caught fish"

Even in captivity, they are not shy, they will swim right up to you. Almost a dog-like personality. They are probably my all time favourite fish. They never fail to make me smile.

They are temperate water fish, and do not like temps over 24C. Right now they are abundant, and water temp is around 17C. Not sure what Farenheit that is, sorry.

Steve Weast had one or two in his reef, but I never contacted him to find out specifics. Maybe someone else knows?

Sure Tim, flame boxes often come in out of of WA as do a few other species of boxfish. They are also able to send out seadragons if you wanna get crazy!

Even had a pod of Orcas around a few weeks back.
Makes for hairy diving :D

if it is spoken for, then why is there the ability to "add to cart" and pay for the little guy? Does not make a lot of sense to me.
