I need a float valve to ATO my sump tank therefore worried about 'salt creep'. Some floats are all plastic while others are also plastic with stainless steel hardware (screw, nut & pin). Does anyone know if there is any preformance difference? Jim

I personally have always used the plastic ones, because stainless or not i'm not a big fan of metal and SW. I've never had a problem with mine. Its a pretty simple little device and it doesn't do anything but float so there's not much to affects its performance.

Ryan, thanks for your input. I'm designing a slide platform that will keep the valve above about 2" above the water line. I just don't know if the salt penetration into the valve will have a higher probability of jaming the valve if the swivel is a nylon or stainless pin. Jim
