I have my two Koralia 3 power heads coded to act as a wave maker where one side comes on and runs for 5 minutes and then the opposite side comes on for 5 minutes.
I have noticed the Koralias chatter sometimes when they are starting up. Is there anyway to get around this using an AC Jr? Is there a way to keep one side running but with less power so that way they never really shut off?

I asked a similar question a few days ago, right after one of my Koralia 4 stopped working. Basically, you need to buy a real wavemaker and use the exact powerheads or you will be buying new powerheads very soon. Yet again, doing things on the cheap can be expensive. Koralia does have a wavemaker that you can use with your K3s. GL

Well that stinks. I guess I will stop using the wave maker feature and just run the PH.

Not to mention, if you flip these on/off every 5 minutes, you're going to be replacing them pretty quick.
That's 288 state changes PER DAY. Try flipping a light on/off every 5 mins. In a month it will be burned out.

Actually that Wavemaker only works with the 12V DC powerheads designed for the unit, using the proprietary plugs.
It doesn't work with any of the less expensive 120V AC Koralia powerheads.

They should probably change the description on the Marine Depot website then which states "•Control Powerheads/Pumps (Wavemaker) "
This is kind of misleading if you ask me since it seems like only certain powerheads can be controlled.

When I first got the AC jr. I was programming it for some pretty fancy wavemaking sequence, but once the novelty wore off, I just kept all my Koralias on all the time and all are plug to one DC8 outlet. Saves outlet use, and removed several lines of code from the ac jr. program. It works just fine (if not better) just left on all the time.
