First off, I would like to say that I love this unit. Don't know how I could have done it for so long without a controller. And now here is my problem.

I have had this unit for a little over 3 weeks. Have this baby set up and working fine for the time since I had it, with some minor mistake on my part. This morning I woke up and noticed my lights were on, checked the apex and everything seem fine. Thought I turned it on manually and forgot to set it back to auto. Went through the program and saw that everything was set to AUTO. Went into the program of the lights to see what was up and noticed that all my numbers are now at 00:00:00, along with a few other program lines that I know I didn't put in there(forgot to write it down as I was late for work). When I tried to reprogram the times to the correct time, hit save and the unit paused on me. Took almost 20+ seconds for it to come out of the pause and everything shut down, lights on the connector unit started to flash yellow for a minute then back to green. I had some of my outlet set to "fallback ON", that didn't seem to work either. As everything shut down as soon as the display unit went haywire. So now I had to spend almost 1 hour re-programming my unit. I have an EB8 and a DC8 connected and it didn't see either one. I had to remove module and re-add module. I know the EB8 is recognized automatically, but had to first remove it before it was re-recognized in the head unit. I now have 2 ghost outlet in my setup that I cannot delete. One would have no name but an address 064, while the other had a name that was associated to my DC8 outlet 8 that I was able to delete and re-add. When I go in to program my outlet the first thing that comes up is the no "no name outlet 064", as soon as I browse up or down it goes away. Do I need to upgrade firmware or do I have a faulty head unit? Some help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I guess the 1st question is what firmware are you running; the formware that shipped in the units has has a number of fixes that are available in the beta.

The quickest solution is to call Neptune (408) 578-3022. If what you are seeing is an issue with the firmware than it would benefit to contact Neptune so it can be investigated in case it would require a patch.

thanks Ken, I called neptune and they said I should update my firmware. My question now is how do I do it with a Mac pro :). I read through some of the thread that allows me to use the web interface with the mac, but no where did it shows how to update firmware, as one of the program needed to run is a Pc program. Any ideas or do I need a PC to do this?

I thought that might be the best solution if you had not already updated; you do need a Windows environment to run the uploader.

Do you not have one available?

Alright I upgraded the firmware, so hopefully nothing goes wrong like it did before the upgrade. Only one thing that is still questionable is the "ghost outlet", it is still there. Don't think that will be a problem, but who knows.

I found the Parallels doesn't work with the uploader. It's probably because how it networks. I read a few things about the uploader where it has to be on the same subnet and a few other things. I suspect that was my problem. Since I have dual boot setup, I just rebooted in to Windows and that worked fine. I suspect that I could play with the network settings in Parallels and possibly get it to work, but it was quicker to reboot :)
