Posted this in the Nano forum but haven't had any luck. I can't seem to find anything searching this, but thought I'd ask anyways.
I purchased the JBJ 28g 150 HQI when it was just new on the market and have been relatively happy with it after making some mods (nanotuners actinic mod, swapped out the skimmer for an Aqua C Remora, and added a chiller). Lately I've been thinking its time to replace the ballast with an electronic one. I know that nanotuners has one for $180, but was curious if anyone has tried mod'ing a 150w electronic Icecap ballast or something similar. The thing I'm concerned about is that the ballast is also supplying power to the 4 small fans that run with the lights.
Ideas or thoughts?
