Will this container work for RO/DI water

Hey guys.....
There is someone locally selling 60 gallon pickle barrells that were used for storing and transporting pickles. He said he thinks they are made out of polyethylene and they have only ever held pickles and vinegar....never any chemicals. With a good washing...would this work for an RO/DI water storage container?

it will work. it will probably leak phosphates into your water, which is not good for reefs and bearable for fish only tanks
