Hello i have a 240 gal FOWLR and am looking for a filtration system. New York City water probably has a lot of chloramines in it, so i probably need something that targets that the most. Since i have no intention on making a reef tank, i dont really need something that leaves the water super clean, just something that removes anything harmful to fish. Thanx

Water in NY is very good and only has a tds of about 30 which is very low. As far as I know they only use chlorine which is easy to filter. You will get very good results for our Ocean Wave Shell RO 75 GPD $124. I would add a auto shutoff valve $8 which we will build in so you can use a float valve to shut down the system when your product water container is full.

THANX! what is the pressure gauge for?

We build with Filmtec membranes and they operate best at 50 psi or higher, all other membranes require 60-65 psi. The pressure gauge shows you have the required pressure and will also show if you have a filter clog which causes pressure to drop off.

and the chloramine filter upgrade? is that something that would really benefit me?

NY city uses chlorine no need for the extra expense of chloramine filters, here is the water quality report.
