I just picked up a beautiful Blueline Angelfish and I introduced him into the smaller fish only tank I have for right now, but want to add him to my SPS, LPS tank soon.
Question is does anyone have them in there reef tank and how are they doing, I know it is a crap shoot putting these into a reef tank but before I do just wanted to hear your opinions.
I will add some photos tomorrow night of this beauty.
Thank you

LPS are probably some of the most vulnerable corals, except for maybe the Euphyllia genus.

I have loads of hammers and frogspawns and teh BluelIne Angel doesn't touch them. I believe they are both Euphyllia? Not really up on me coral names. They just look purdy.

NexDog-
Gorgeous fish, and nice looking tank also. How long have you had yours for?
flameangel88-
I got mine from Vivid Aquariums, had a deal I couldn't pass up. I just released mine into my reef tank and will promise to upload pics tonight.
I would have to say it is probably 3.5", I had it in my 50 for a few days just to make sure I had him feeding well and to monitor his behavior and felt like it was ready to switch him over.
Hope when I get home my corals aren't ripped apart!

Thanks for the info. Just one more question--What food is she eating? I just got one about 3.5" also but not eating yet in QT. Was hiding till I added 2 more angels in there then she came out to defend her territory.

Mine is eating Brine Shrimp and Mysis and most flake foods soaked in Selcom with a little Garlic.
I have been making a a mix of Pellet and flake with Cyclopeze, it gives them a pretty good mix of everything they need.
Good Luck

I looked back in my tank thread a few months ago as I wondered that myself. I got the BlueLine in summer 2006 so a full 3 years. It was cheap as chips too. Maybe $40 as it was caught locally.
My tank isn't much but cheers for the nice comments. I just don't have the drive for the added headache of SPS no matter how pretty they are. All that Hammer came from a single head. It grows like a weed in my tank, I have no idea why. I don't add any calcium or alk and have no kalk reactor. The Frogspawn died all the way back to like 5 polyps in a 5mm squared area and then grew back bigger and better with 4 separate heads. It's a bit receeded in that pic (left of the clam and is usually 50% bigger than that.
Anyhow, I digress (as usual). :)

Such an awesome fish. And under flourescents looks outstanding. I'm sure you'll love yours. :)
Mine must be about 5"? I'm not very good at judging size. I might be wrong as it's been growing with everything else in the tank but I don't think I've seen any growth in a year or maybe two. It's teh same size as my Powder Blue.

Forgot to mention that he is in QT eating chopped clam, mysis, and spirolina enhanced brine. Not going to a reef, but I would feel very comfortable with him around anything but clams, brains, or plates...

The one thing I like about this guy is the black in his top and bottom fin...he is also VERY orange...we shall see if he keeps the color.
You mean this guy?? :)

The shipping for a box from Japan was $700 plus the fish and wildlife license...
Lets just say without some other fish tagging along to make it worth it, the blueline was very expensive.
Here he is in the process of being caught:
