I was afraid of that. I had the beige sundials before but just wanted to verify this one here... time to go hunting in a 150 gallon tank for sundials :(

I could be wrong but that what they look like as that pyramid shaped flap that closes the opening to the shell is what makes me think its a pyramid snail.

For me when it's questinable I toss it out. only snails that make it in my tank are astrea, trochus and turbos and the once in while quenn or fighting conch.

Someone suggested that I get a mystery wrasse to eat them. Is this true? Will the mystery also eat the nassarius and other snails?

I have a large mystery compared to the rest of the other wrasses in my tank. I still have little scarlet hermits, tongan nassarius and other snails in my tank. He did eat 2 yasha ( pistols though ) expensive meal, but those were added after he was already settled in the tank. Anything added after him is fair game, just like how a 6line would act. He doesn't bother the other 3 wrasses ( leopard, red fairy and Yellow coris ) Bought them at the same size (1") now he's closing in the 3" while everyone else is around 2".

Manual removal and constant inspection is best my friend.

If you have doubts in anyway, please post the pic in the invert forum maybe leslie could properly ID as well. But if you compare it to this pic of this sundial closed, you'll see the pyramid portion as its closed.
