Question About Carbon

NEED A LITTLE OF HELP I WAS WONDERING IF THERE IS A SET AMOUNT OF CARBON PER GALLON OF WATER ANY INFO CAN HELP THANKS

I use level 4 cups every 2 to 3 weeks in my 150. I cant remember where I read to use that amount but it must have been BRS or on the carbon they sent me..........

I seem to remember 1 cup per 100 gallons though, which is more than what BRS is recommending at 1 tablespoon per 10 gallons...

I think I just saw something saying a 1/2 cup is enough for 64 gallons by them to some other poster. But they also stated it depends on bioload.

less is better to start with and slowly build up . a cup per 50 gallons is good to get to IMO ,just dont add it all at one time as i said build up to that amount over the period of a few weeks .

well thanks for all the info ppl i just always dumped the whole thing in a bag and drop it in my sump but trying to save a little money here and there and it adds up so i start thinking what coral i could of put in the tank

just depends on the brand....the one I use only requires 1 Tablespoon per 50 Gallons

Thats pretty interesting according to BRS's directions. I should be using just over 1 cup for my sustem and only for a few days per month.

I always just filled my reactor 3/4 of the way up then let it run. Replacing carbon every 3-4 weeks.
