I have a 12" coralife 150w metal halide that has a mini Radioshack fan in it. I just bought this light and when i got home I noticed I was missing the special plug in/connector to the fan. here is what the adapter plu looks like and the fan-

Anyway the fan is a 12v DC and I was thinking about clipping the special adapter and rewiring the fan to a wall plug-in. My problem is that for this 12v plug-in radio shack wants $25. I have all kinds of old plug-ins in my basement such as 15v, 5v, 6v, 7v, but no 12.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could get this fan going cheap? can I run this fixture without a fan?

thanks

it comes down to the milliamps of what is being ran. you can more than likely get away with using the 15v with absolutely no problem.

Thanks, how do I know how many milliamps it runs?

The 15v plug in is 500 milliamps, but it does not say on the fan itself?

I am overcautious :), but this isnt a fire risk is it? I couldn't care less if I break the fan..

ok so the plug in is 500 milliamps and the fan is .07 Amps (70 milliamps).

the wiring is the same size that would connect the two.

any help is appreciated.
