Can the Apex be used with a wireless gaming adapter? If so, which ones are people using? Any specific brands or types that can be used? Particular setup concerns?

Yes, I use the LinkSys Wireless N adapter, status, configuration all function correctly.

Note: **** DO NOT TRY TO UPDATE FIRMWARE VIA WIRELESS CONNECTION; IT CURRENTLY WILL NOT WORK ****

I just installed a Buffalo wireless-N bridge. It was between this and the Linksys wireless N Adapter. I chose the Buffalo because it had 4 ports unstead of 1 and I could connect a webcam in the future and still have 2 ports remaining. Installation was a snap and connected to my Linksys wireless G router w/ no problems.

ok, so i wanted to try this, so i purchased a wire-less acess point someone had linked here on Newegg. The problem is, it has only one plug, which is a power/usb plug. I got a female usb/cat 5 adapter, but i realized that now there is no way for the aquabus to connect to the acess point, because it needs to be through the cat 5. Anyone have a suggestion?

this is what was linked by someone on this forum to use in this situation, and what i ordered. Thanks

The device in the link will not work with the Apex (not any Neptune controller) and hopefully you didn't connect it to the Apex AquaBus or you most likely burned it up.

As you have already figured out the connection must be Ethernet and there are many game adapters that support Ethernet; I'd suggest one of those.

burned up what, the aquabus or the device?

If you plug a plain USB device into the Apex you will likely burn up the USB device (the Apex should be fine).

AquaBus is 12v but USB is 5.

oh ok, just making sure. One is a 500 dollar item, one cost 40. So phew!
