your LFS should be able to Test for you!

If you have a lfs or a local pool shop you can take it there and have your water tested. Peysmart also tests but I wouldn't try them!

I have seen a few LFS I wouldnt trust on a SG test.

Why are you asking for a lab? Are you having issues and suspect bad kits or do you not have any? Labs will probably charge for 1 test what 2 kits will cost.

You might ask in the chemistry forum. I know there are labs you can send a sample to and get a complete analysis. I've often thought of doing this as well.

I've never heard good things about the water testing companies... you're better off investing in quality test kits and doing it yourself in my opinion.

I have used aquarium water testing . com every month for about a year now and also spot check alkalinity and ph. This lab is not perfect but I have not had any huge issue with them either. They will give you a pretty good idea of how your water quality is but if you use them be careful about reacting/dosing all minor trace chemicals that they list in their tests. You could do more harm than good.
Just my 2 cents.

agreed, test them yourself with good test kinds. aquarium water testing .com may or may not do a good job, i don't know. but testing yourself is easy, affordable, and quicker than mailing off a sample.

And 3rd party reference kits. Test kits of all brands are notorious for "bad batches". Either have 2 kits for each test from different companies (2 calcs, 2 alks) or a good 3rd party reference. Otherwise it's still just a crap shoot.

if your testing normal and once in a blue moon water samples tat are common hobbie tests i would do it my self or go to a GOOD lfs.. now if you are testing for something not normaly tested for in the hobby or for an unknow element or possible contaminate that would not show up in any hobby test kit then you would need to search out a lab.. maybe one who tests well water for human use
