A few weeks back I noticed these growing on my live rock. After being away from home for a few weeks they have doubled in size. Wondering if anybody can tell me what they are and if they are a good thing or not? Thanks

Neomeris, most people recommend quickly removing since it can reach plague proportions an is calcareous so can quickly deplete your calcium.

Just pluck them off as close to the base as possible. Oh, and by the way:

comonly know as a caterpillar alge kinda cool looking little things I leave them alone in my tanks and the snails and emerald crabs break them off for me.
