Hello all. I've been on reef central for a while mostly doing research. This is my first posting. I currently have a 178g Oceanic Ultimate Tank and love it! It's been set up a little over a year now.

Pictures from the build:

Setup with water and some beginnings of aquascaping. Used fiberglass rods to hold the rocks together.

My husband built a light rack for an 8 bulb T5 Retro kit that is on drawer slides so I can still get into the tank.

More recently, I've started doing vodka dosing and it has gone really well. My nitrates and phosphates have been at zero for two months now. I've also started to add amino acids. The increased polyp extension is amazing!

Most recent picture of the tank. Sorry, I'm still learning how to adjust the colors and white balance.

Wow, looks great. How long was it between your build shot and the recent shot? Plus I must say your tangs are gorgeous.

Duh, I guess I read your original post and your title, and forgot by the time I wrote my previous reply. 1 YEAR stupid. The beauty of the display made me forget. :)

Thanks! I really love the Naso. It's so peaceful and the streamers are beautiful!

There are three lyretail anthias, although nobody has decided to become a male yet.... Oh well, they're all very healthy and happy.

This picture is before zero nitrates/phosphates and amino acid dosage:

And this is the after:

I can't believe the difference in polyp extension!

Nice looking tank, I'm starting an oceanic 215 ultimate reef (at the plumbing stage now) and was wondering how you like your tank? Any problems working inside the tank with those large center braces?(I have the same type).
Also, what's your return pump flow rate? Are you using the same durso standpipes that came with the tank? Are they Quiet? I am concerned my drains may not handle the flow rate I want. Might use all the pre-drilled holes for drains and run my return up the back.

I actually like the center brace. I'm not very tall, so I have to stand on a step stool to work in my tank and it's nice to be able to set tools on the brace.

Our return pump is a Mag18, but it is split off to feed the chiller as well. I have the overflows setup with the herbie method and I'm only using one of the holes as a drain.

Look forward to seeing your build. I really like the ultimates.
