Damn, that is an awesome clam, is that a Squamosa? Did you get that a rare corals site or something, never seen a striped pattern like that.

thanks a4twenty for making the picture appear in the thread. That is a maxima that i found at a new LFS in my area. I considered it a steal at $50.

Nice clam.
I wonder if under high light, it will turn gold and black?
There is a clam at a LFS here in Corpus Christi that is similar but not anywhere near as nice

Black and gold, colors of my alma mater UCF. That would look sweet. It sits now under a 150 halide about 10 in. from the bulb. The edges have an irredescent blue that doesnt show in the pictures, but in the flesh it catches your eye. Im gonna try for the top down but its difficult to get the clam to stay open when I remove the hood.
