How to kill purple hairy mushrooms?

Guys i have some purple hairy mushrooms that i need to kill off in my 90. Whats the best way to do this without removing the rock from the tank? Ive tried cutting them out but usually i miss a piece and they spread. Any ideas? I feel like the are bothering other corals in my tank, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I used boiling water and thick kalk paste, and it killed my unwanted shrooms. It was the same as aiptaisia except shrooms aren't as elusive.
I also tried cutting them off and where I cut one off I had four pop up in its place:(

wow sad that someone wants to kill a shroom lol i wish I could get mine to grow enough to be a problem lol

I made the mistake of putting some hairy mushrooms in my tank and they can be like a plague, the way they spread. They only way I've been able to control them is to use kalk paste.

I have a plague of blue shrooms. I cut them off and throw them in my quarantine/frag tank. My LFS refers to them as "another free bag of salt shrooms" ;)

In the past, I also have cut them off and thrown them into the refugium. Then end up giving them away. They can really be a plague, and if any flesh is left on the rock they'll grow right back.

I've heard someone joke about propagating mushrooms before... he said you could probably just toss them into the blender then pour the mixture into the tank. :lol:

A member of the local reef club mixed up some boiling limewater I believe and dipped the rock into it for a few minutes. He said the mushrooms literally melted away.

Whats wrong with purple mushrooms? Can you not isolate them on a single rock. (island)

I use joe's juice... these mushrooms can get out of control...

They can smother out other corals. It is possible to isolate them if you have the room but once those guys get going, they can spread as quickly as zoas.

Thanks guys for all the info, I used kalk paste on some of them last night and it seems to do the trick. To those that were wondering why i was killin em.... They had attched themselves to my orange cap and everywhere they were close to was dying.. A few pieces of SPS and a clam were all having a hard time with them so i knew it was time for them to go
