Yesterday I came home and one of my wetsides was off. I have three vortechs in my tank.
I hooked it back up thinking my cat knocked it off or something. Within a minute or so I heard a strange noise and it fell off again. I did this about 3-4 times before giving up for the night. Today I was experimenting with possible problems and after switching wetsides from the one that was falling off with another one that wasn't, I came to the conclusion that the wetside is messed up.
I followed the instuctions on taking it apart and inspected it for any weird buildup or wear.
I couldn't see anything wrong with it so I re-assembled it and tried it again. Sure enough it keeps doing it. It's almost like the prop is getting bound up and the motor is popping it off the glass.
Any thoughts on why it's doing this?

Sent the email out to you guys with the pictures you requested. I haven't heard back yet. Any news? It's almost a week since this started and I need to get it back online soon.

Well I called you the day after I originally posted and spoke with someone. They instructed me to send pics of the wetside dissassembled. Later that night (Tuesday night) I took the pics and sent them to service@ecotechmarine.com. I haven't heard back yet.
I guess I'll call tommorow to see if you got the email. It's sometimes very difficult for me to make phone calls during the day though.

I purchased 2 MP40W's in May of this year. Last month, the same thing happened to me, one of the wetsides seized and fell to the sand. I e-mailed and called customer support several times, took the photos and they sent some replacement parts. It worked once I replaced the parts and assembled it.
I would keep calling. Please see my separate post

Okay this sucks! One of my other ones is doing it now!!
Mind you, I have never touched these once before hand. They ran fine for about 2-3 weeks and the first one went, now the one I got a week after the first one keeps falling off.
I did talk with Steve at Ecotech and he said maybe the bearings are seized. I checked today and they spin freely of eachother.
This coupled with all my fish dieing this week from some mysterious ailment is leaving me extremely frustrated.

I've been experiencing the same along with noise and now a broken propeller as of last night. I've had problems with support too.. I called and left messages when they first started falling off, but no one ever gets back to me... I tried e-mail a few moments ago.. Hopefully, that will do the trick.. I have very little flow in my tank without these running.. I hope they get it all straightened out for you.
