I'm contemplating the future addition of a Genicanthus pair to my 8ft softie dominated reef.
I've narrowed it down to either a Lamarck or Watanabei pair. Any thoughts or preferences here, and if so why?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

My tank dimensions are 96x25x14, rimless with open rock work.
My current inhabitants:
7-8" Magnificent Foxface
Pair of Ocellaris Clowns
Blue Sided Fairy Wrasse
8 Blue Eyed Cardinals

I plan on adding an Acanthurus and a Ctenochaethus Tang down the road as well- either first or after.

Here's a picture that displays how open my rockwork is:

Both are great fish, I prefer the Watanabeis because I like their colors better anyway, but I also think the blue would look particularly nice with your cardinals. I would add the tang(s) after the angels because in my experience they are fairly passive fish.

LaMarck angels are probably the hardiest and least expensive member of the genus. Because of their availability, relatively low price, and because most available are subadults, I think this angel is very underestimated. Mature males are gorgeous and the females also have a subtle beauty. Because I like hardy fish, and because of all else it has going for it, I'd consider the LaMarck.

Thanks Gwinhidwy and LisaD.

Lisa, that's exactly the kind of info I was looking for. I've been leaning toward the Lamarck's pair because I had already suspected much of what you have ironed out.
