Can I keep 2 of these butterflyfish in my tank. Tank dim are 48x24x17.

IME they do much better in a talk of 72" long or larger. They love the open space for swimming.

I agree with Dejavu. I have multiples in two tanks, but my tanks are significantly larger than yours.

I have 2 in my 6 foot long 180 gallon reef, and they swim across the whole tank constantly. They like having space to swim.
