ATB Large, MSX 300A, or the hurricone cat 2

MSX 300A is imo the best pound for pound skimmer out. I see a lot of skimmers equal to its performance in its size range for a heck of a lot more money but none are performing better then one another. So save your money buy a MSX unless you feel the need to say I own a Bubble King etc.

ATB 1050 would be my choice for quality and efficiency.

Some one had a ATB large deluxe or something here on RC. It was a large but was external. That skimmer was sweet too if you need external.

not wanting to hijack the tread, but I'm looking for the same info... but my tank is 550 gallons (400 display and 150 sump)

so, will the "ATB Large, MSX 300A, or the hurricone cat 2" be able to skim for a tank this large too? or are these recomendations "just enough to skim 270gal, but not enough to handle more"...

thanks

An ATB large or MSX300A would work great on your system.

I'd vote for a ATB 1050a, its more than enough to handle that size tank and it only uses 45watts.
