Looking for some tips on how to use an ORP probe on a sulphur denitrator I am getting ready to install. I will post some pics of the reactor in a couple of days if needed.

Bump for the chemistry wizards.

I had a probe in my denitrator, but the bacteria that grew in the denitrator covered the probe and made the readings wacky. Since my denitrator is a closed loop to/from my sump, I put the ORP probe in there. Seems to work better for me.

If you can probe the interior reliably, then I should be able to locate some target numbers. My memory is saying about -200 to -150, but I'll have to check.

Well, I didn't find as much as I thought I would, just this link:

Thanks a lot, Jon. That gives me a guideline to use for running it.

Let us know how it goes. I hope the information is reasonable.

Now I am debating which ORP meter to buy...seems there is a Hanna that is expensive, but looks nice:) Then there is the Pinpoint and Milwaukee.

Hanna makes some nice equipment, but I have no experience with ORP meters.

What makes it so great? This is like saying "the only candy bar worth eating is a Mars Bar".

Dave, I've used the Pinpoint and the Milwaukee.

I like the Milwaukee. Never used the Hanna. :)
