aptasia killing question

I have a number of aptasia suddenly growing on one live rock chunk - nice good size piece I want to keep. Too many to try to kill with aptasia meds and hard to get at. If I take the whole rock out would it be better to just let it dry out then replace it, leave it in RODI water with out salt, or put it in dilute bleach water to kill everything. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

I've tried just about everything and the only thing that works for me is pickling lime (sold at walmart) and water ....2 teaspoons pickling lime and one teaspoon water,mix together and heat for 30 seconds put into a syringe and zap those suckers..Its so much fun,I kinda like it when they pop up now :)

OK thanks for the info. What if I want to treat the whole rock all at once?
